what on earth is a girl to do when she questions what she is doing with her life? does graphic design help the world in any way? am i part of an evil system that compounds and festers all that lies in its path? is this my calling? does destiny exist? if i am to be the best person i can be without enlisting in the US reserves, is graphic design the career path for me?
at the moment, i have no answers. i'm pondering. and when i freak the funk, i take to the book. some like to drink. some like to smoke. i like to turn pages. it's what academic freaks like me turn to.
here are three books i found amidst the disastrous pile of my unused desk in my studio.

I have some really dope friends. If you're one of them (and I am so honored to have you in my life), you should know that I find this to be the luckiest thing I got going in my life.
Mr.-ever-so-on-it, aka The Wood, sent me this screen shot:
This is as close as I get to becoming a local minor celebrity. Yup. And I'm damn super stoked. Slightly blushing. But then again, it takes a lot for me to blush.
Check out JOY ENGINE. They're dope. They're fresh. And check this out - one of the owners of Joy Engine used to be my resident when I was a Resident Advisor in college. They grow up so fast!!! ::sniff::sniff::
Creative Crackdown, Sheima Hassanlou
Sheima Hassanlou, freelance motion graphics designer who sometimes edits and sometimes does print (her words), sent us her new portfolio site to review. But we thought we’d toss it out to the rest of you Egotists to analyze and provide feedback.
Some of our friends from the outside will also be chiming in on the work – a team from Tequila, LA, TBWA\Chiat\Day’s in-house interactive arm and a team from McCann Erickson, NY. We’ve also lined up two new teams from Creature, Seattle and an editorial team from Chrome, Santa Monica.
Sheima was educated at CU in Boulder and at Crispin Porter + Bogusky as an intern. Did it stick?
Check out her site. Then check back in and let her know.
My new site is up for review by the Denver creative community. Some of my uber-talented friends have been ripped to shreds on this site, and now my work is up for debate.
You can check me out takin' a licking from these foolios.
Yup. Now ya heard.

Apparently I haven't slept much if the first thoughts that come to my mind in the morning are Vanilla Ice lyrics.
Sorry.
